Inspiration
I first read The Third Door in undergraduate and immediately connected with the author, Alex Banayan. His story begins as a college freshman unmotivated to continue his pre-med course work. The book follows Banayan’s unconventional path to interviewing some of the world’s most successful people. What really stuck with me was his determination to find a “third door”, a creative way in when the main doors are closed. That idea became the foundation for this project.

Project Third Door is my own version of that journey, focused on reaching and interviewing sports lawyers in Indianapolis. The main goal is to simply expand my knowledge of the business and legal side of the sports industry. At the same time, I want the process itself to push me outside my comfort zone, cold emailing, networking, and showing persistence when the first answer is “no.” It’s an exercise in resourcefulness and courage, just like Banayan’s story. Through this experience, I hope to sharpen my communication skills, expand my professional network, and build the confidence to keep finding my own “third doors” in life and career.
